Inner Road Quartet

Among the most active and noted Sardinian musicians of the Italian and international jazz scene, is a versatile artist who likes to fully investigate the universe of sound.

His artistic journey brought him through the experimentation of different musical languages, the combination of modern and archaic ingredients and the exploration of different music cultures far apart from each other.

He released 14 albums as a leader and collaborated in 5 different compilations of international artists.
He played in Europe, Japan, China, Iran, Egypt, Brazil, Argentina, Croatia, Slovenia, Albania and Kuwait at many prestigious festivals and shows. On 2017 JazzIt Awards he is considered among the best 3 Italian jazz soprano players.

Since 2001 is the artistic director of Musica sulle Bocche Festival, held in Santa Teresa Gallura that comes out at the top of the Jazz festivals in Sardinia.

Danilo is a great producer of rythmical lows and noises.

To do that, he uses doublebass, electric bass, acoustic bass guitar, bass balalaikas, 12-strings bass.

Co-founder of the collective “El Gallo Rojo Records”, he realized several musical project among which “Guano Padano”.

Danilo is the winner of the italian TOP JAZZ Referendum by the magazine Musica Jazz, as best bassist of the 2010.

Graduated with honors in classical piano at the Conservatory of L’Acquila”Alfredo Casella”.

He recently teamed up in one of the most important European jazz record labels, the Cam Jazz, and have since recorded three CDs for it “Life Variations” in 2012, ” Keywords” in 2014 and the third with the saxophonist “Right Now” in 2015.

In 2012 a panel of journalists awarded him the prestigious Top Jazz Award as the Best New Talent held by the magazine “Musica Jazz”, and in 2014, he received the Siae (Italian Authors’ and Publishers’ Association) Award for creativity.

Drummer, percussionist and composer, he has approached jazz in 1978.

For eight years he has been a member of Enrico Rava’s quintet “Electric Five”, touring in Italy and Europe, as well as Canada and Japan.

He has recorded several music projects for the German label ECM. Moreover, he collaborated on the composition of theater videos and soundtracks.

He has also his own records, some of which dedicated to the Weather Report.
