ABOUT THE PROJECT

Enzo Favata one of the world’s best-known Italian jazz musicians, thanks to his poetics that fuses jazz with world traditions, has decided to call back his historical bandmates after a good 18 years since their last concert together.

Thanks to their important careers over the years, we are talking about a super group of international world jazz: Daniele Di Bonaventura on bandoneon, Marcello Peghin on guitar, Salvatore Maltana on double bass, UT Ghandi on drums, led by Enzo Favata on saxophones, all now established italian stars.

Atlantico Project

MORE

The band will be together again for a musical journey through South America, a project inspired by Latin American writers such as Borges, Sepulveda, Marquez a Soriano and many others.
The concept album, published in 1999 by Manifesto Editions, was an immediate recording success that captured the imagination of many listeners; an album with many reprints, reaching the figure of more than 50.000 copies sold; a popularity that opened a fortunate season for the Atlantico quintet, with more than 400 concerts worldwide over five years of activity, from 1999 to 2004, with several tours, including four in Latin America Atlantico Quintet a well-known group among the ‘Generation X’.
It was word of mouth among those who had the album, (Edizioni il Manifesto 50,000 copies sold), those who had seen one of their concerts, articles in newspapers and reviews in the international press, it was a great success and helped to make the general public, especially young people, get to know that dreamy music between jazz and Latin America, all this made the Quintetto Atlantico become a Cult group, which today is also liked by young people, thanks to the particular sound bandoneon, guitar, soprano sax, double bass and drums and the melodies of the songs.
Today, the web has little information about this band, as there were no social networks, and Facebook was supposedly born in February 2004 in Cambridge, while YouTube was born in San Matteo, California in 2005. However, Atlantico was an album and a band that became very famous in Italy and Europe in the early 2000s. Atlantico, which can be found on internet platforms, is still very much listened to.
